Factory exhaust replacement
Years ago, my dad bought a new '97 F150 that had the factory exhaust exiting in front of the passenger side rear wheel. He mentioned the wheel being discolored by the exhaust to someone he was chatting to one day, and was told that Ford would correct the problem. He took the truck to the local dealer, and sure enough, Ford paid to replace the entire exhaust system, from the manifolds back, with the tailpipe behind the wheel. I recently bought a '97 with the factory exhaust still on it but leaking, and wondered whether Ford would still replace any/all of it. When I mentioned it to the dealer, he acted like he had never heard of such a thing. I've searched the threads on this site for any info on this topic and come up empty. Anyone have any insight for me here?
