Truck is 2001 4 x 4 has 40,000 miles drives okay in first & second gear but will not go in drive or overdrive, just revs up , it started acting up in Vermont while towing 2 snowmobiles and the temperature was minus 9 in the morning. Snowmobiling was great they had 3 feet of snow, but truck is very sad. It will start in drive at slow speeds, but when you get to about 35 miles / hour it just revs up and will not go. Drove home in second gear , stopped at auto store and added some Lucas transmission conditioner fix. Guy at store said it might be a solenoid in the transmission . I plan to drop transmission pan and replace filter and check for debris. Any ideas or recommendations any thoughts would be greatly appreciated ?
