I am picking up a 97 F150 4x4 Scab tomorrow, and I want to swap the front bumper out for the 99+ style front.

I am just wondering if the F150 and Expedition used the same bumpers? I found quite a few 99+ Expy bumpers far cheaper than F150 bumpers. I know I need the mounting hardware, grill, and bumper for this.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

yes I believe the expedition an f150 use the same bumpers, good luck with the swap! be sure to post pics

Hold the presses! If you get a '99+ bumper, you MUST change the header panel and grille too! These do NOT go straight across like the '97-'98 as they have a larger grille which "dips" onto the bumper assembly. The bolt patterns are similar, but you must change out the whole front pieces. There are plenty of pics (and avatars) of the differences in the '99+ compared to the '97'-'98. BTW, Like year grouping Expeditions are compatible with F150's - I just got my '98 fog light equipped bumper from an Expedition - and it goes straight across (no dip by the grille).

So you're saying that it doesn't matter whether it comes from an Expedition or an F150, I will still need the header?

Yes, you'll need the header and grille. You may re-use your headlights and side lights - they'll fit. I wish my @#$% cell camera didn't suck so bad, or I'd show you the difference in a single post. I'd poke around this forum, where many have posted under fog lights - where one such member is doing what you're going to do.
