Exhaust/Shocks Question?
Good morning all,
I just bought a F-150 a few weeks back and am in the process of doing a few things to it. I have noticed I have an exhaust leak around the header/cat area. Thus I have decided to just replaced the entire system header back. I would like to do a shortie setup with bolt on cat and catback system.
So far I have found some cheaper shorties from summit and pace setter. However the cats seem very expensive. So far all I can find is Magnaflow for around $650. As far as a catback system I am open to pretty much anything that flows and sounds better. My goal is to obviously not spend a ton of money. Anyone have any reccomendations?
I also need some new shocks. I am currently running 285/75/16's with no body lift. The previous owner looks to have cranked the torsion bars as it sits higher in the front than normal. I plan on getting a local shop to check it out and align it but wanted to get new shocks thrown on first. Agian I'm looking for a cheap setup that still does performs ok. Should I go with factory size or 0-2" of lift? Thanks in advance!

to do. the bolts tend to snap as well. i cant help you on the other stuff, but magnaflow high flow cats are fairly common. as for shocks, i ran the rancho 5000's on my truck for a while and were ok, but they blew out pretty quick. i have the skyjacker 9000's now and love them. for just a torsion crank you should be alright with stock length since you still have stock travel, just turned up at ride height. if you search around on the exhaust topic you can get more help.. also if you have the 5.4 you can get long tube headers, the 4.6 you have to stick to shorties
