no but ya. u can just leave it but u should put pipe out the side or out the back. because it will rust the under side of ur truck. at the very least u should put a small pipe after the muffler pointing down so exhaust doesnt blow on everything.

Most states require it to come out of the truck a certain distance from the back of the cab. When I lived in maine the exhaust had to end 18" behind the cab. I live in PA now and it had to exit behind the tire. If you dont have inspections or these laws i would just put a down pipe on it. You wont melt anything and you get some great road echo, esp. with flow masters. I just ordered a flowmaster super 44 for my truck today. I am just going to put it in place of my old muffler and modify the pipe.

Put a down pipe on it....you can either get it welded on or use an exhaust clamp.

Heres a pic of what Im talkin about...This is my flowmaster.

like mentioned before some states require a tail pipe after the tires, if u want it loudder i suggest putting a cutoff before the muffler.. but totally ur choice

I hope your not thinking thats still half-assed.....I forgot to mention that I cut out my cats but I dont recommend that due to the fact some states(cops) are more strict than others...... Also, is cutting my cats out half assed?
