Default Exhaust Problem

I have a Flowmaster 40 Series exhaust and its little over 10 years old. Today when i started my truck the exhaust noise was almost unbearable. Sounds like im running straight pipes. When the rpm revs down it sounds like rattling noise. I also had the catalytic converters replaced about 3 years ago. Any ideas whats causing this and what i could do. Do Flowmasters ever just go out? Thanks for any input. It sounds just horrible i hate driving.

Sure, it's very common for mufflers and exhaust systems to develop holes. The first step is to do a visual inspection of the exhaust system

10 years? Must be nice. Up here where we use a ton of road salt we're lucky to get 3. You probably either have a hole somewhere or something let go. Check the full length of the exhaust system and all the clamps (if you have any) or the welds. Sounds like something just let go somewhere along the line and maybe it will be an easy fix.

10 year old exhaust.....you got your moneys worth out of it. Time for some new plumbing.

Well i crawled under and the pipe going to my exhaust was just hanging there not connected. The strap they used to keep the pipes together just broke off. Went had it all welded up and is running great now. Best part only cost me $10. He said the exhaust system looks great though no rust and no holes.
