Default 1998 Ford F150 keyless remote

First off, let me say I am glad I have found a community of fellow Ford fans. I love my truck, and try and take good care of her all the time!

Now..onto the business.

I have a 1998 Ford F-150 4.6L 4X4. My keyless remote is broken and I have some spares from work that I was able to get. When I bought the truck, this is the remote that came with the vehicle.

Now, I have this remote, and I was wondering if anyone know if it is compatible for my vehicle. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vision-Logo-...2a4c88&vxp=mtr

I do not have a remote start, just your basic lock/unlock. If anyone has any info on these remotes, please let me know. Thank you!!!

I don't think so. It should be on another wave length. You may have to go with an original style fob. Neither one that you are show are factory for that year. The second one is for an after market system, or at least it looks like one.

You have to check the coding on the back to be sure if it will fit your year. There are some that cross over. My 02 explorer and my 07 Mustang are both programmed off one door fob. How that works????? I don't know, but it did. Now I can use one for 2 vehicles. Weird.

Go to the dealership. They are like $50 max, and they will program it free for you

You can find replacement remotes on eBay for like $10 with programming instructions
