Default Engines that fit?

So I found out my engine has low compression on one side so I need a new one but I'd rather find a used one so I need to know what years will fit my 97'

If you put all of the information in the search, they'll show what fits. http://www.car-part.com/index.htm

Just make sure you get an engine without all those stupid 1997-2003 problems like plugs that blow out or defective gaskets that leak and blow the engine.
My engine is great but if I replaced it it would be with the absolute newest model engine that would fit no matter where I got the engine.
I would research those issues too.

The 4.6 came in three versions, something about the number of bolts in the flywheel and windsor or romeo designation. Don't know if that matters on a swap but you should ask around.
