Default Engine Troubles

2003 F150 4x4 4.6L No modifications

Somewhere around August/September 2011 I noticed that my engine would hesitate at times. Of course it progressively got worse as time went on. I took it to a Ford dealer, they ran diagnostics...ended up replacing a PCV valve and a hose. Just over a day later. Acts up again doing the same thing. Took it back and left it with them all day. Was told it was my intake gasket. Got that fixed. Ran just fine for about a month (give or take a few days) and then starts the same stuff all over again.

Now it idles rough, does not want to take off after it has been shut off for a while (give it gas...nothing happens...no engine rev, no movement past idle, will run a little rougher at times) and then after about a minute or so it'll come out of it and run fine....I have noticed there is sometimes a single popping noise when the engine begins to come out of whatever funk it gets in. And then it will hesitate/stutter occasionally while going down the highway or taking off from a stop. The hesitation while at speed happens far less frequently than what it did before I replaced the intake gasket and the vaccum leek. Just drove approx. 275 miles and it never hesitated as I was on the highway, but it did have the start up problems mentioned above.

Just becoming frustrated trying to fix seemingly the same problem for a 3rd time. Really hoping someone else may have had the same issue and can offer some wisdom on the matter. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I also forgot to include that the service engine light is on and the last time I checked the codes it gave a whole slew of things on the print out as "possible" causes. I do distinctly remember it saying I am running lean on engine banks 1 and 2.
