Default Engine? Transmission? Help!

Hey guys, I have a few weird things going on with my 99 F150 4.2L V6.

Basically no problems starting up, etc but when I am driving and out cruising if for some reason I need to get on the accelerator sometimes it is almost like it hangs a bit and then when the gears finally shift it is a really hard shift like the truck doesnt want to switch gears. I know this sounds like the transmission is starting to go as it only happens in the high gears...low gears are very smooth though. I have also noticed that on high up gears (usually around 70-80 mph) there starts a loud whining noise that is consistent with pushing the gas pedal. The noise seems to be coming out of the right side - almost from behind the glove box...but it is hard to tell exactly - somewhere on the right side of the truck...I just dont want to take it into the shop because every time I do I get screwed...

Another problem it is having is what sounds like a pulley squeaking a little bit. The problem with this is that I did take it into the shop and they said it was the camshaft synchronizer and sensor - but they said my truck would stop running within a month or so if I didnt get it fixed, and that was back in January...so I am starting to think maybe it is a pulley - any ideas?

Any ideas would be very helpful as I love this truck, and really dont want to have to trade it in for another one.

Thanks,
Bobby
