Default Engine swap NEED HELP!

I have an 88 ford f150 with a 302 efi and original plan was to make a mud truck out of it. By recently I raced a 5.0 mustang in my other truck and came close to winning, and it gave me the idea to put a supercharged 5.4l triton in this old beast with a new 5 speed and locking rear differential with electronic exhaust cutouts to over all make it a sleeper. But my lack of knowledge when it comes to electronics always makes me switch everything to carbureted where I'm comfortable but I want to keep the fuel injection and want to know if the 302 computer will run a 5.4l triton and if not how I would go about making it work

You would need all the wiring from the 5.4 and the computer. These are entirely different engine combinations. The 5.0, maybe you'd be better off finding a built 5.8 or a 347 made up. Going to the 5.4 is great with the newer trucks, but going into an older assy, could make for quite an expensive undertaking. I think I'd find me a 5.8 or maybe even a 7.5 and build that. JMO of course.

Would the stock computer run a 5.8 as long as it has the same firing order

A Windsor 5.8 yes and no. Depending on the coding inside the computer. The number can be run to see if it will work with your particular applicaton. The Triton 5.4 no.

Keep the street racing talk out of here... track and private property is good to go!
