i have a 99 4x4 4.6l v8. my truck has started to cut out on me every once in a while when i accelerate like going on to the highway via the onramp. i made a four hour trip the other day about half way throug the trip it started doing this. it was like a horrible spuder that would make the truck jerk up and down in the front. it also did it a couple times going up a hill or passing sombody.

if anybody knows anything about this please help me.

 

Get a fuel pressure reading, could be a failing fuel pump.

 

Buy a TITAN!

 

I would also change the fuel filter, along with checking fuel pressure...water in fuel is another possibility to look at

 

ive seen coils go bad and also the egr ports clooged up causing missfires and also found the torque convertor to shudder feels like the rumble strips on the side of the freeway could all be causes

 

I also would check the coils. Most auto part stores will scan your engine and see if you have any misfires.
