Default engine noise.....

My sister was driving my truck home on the interstate today when it started making a 'flapping noise?'.... She got off at the next exit and stopped at the light when it started to shake and then it died.... When i got there the oil was very low and water was empty in the reservoir ( i filled it up a week before ).

Any ideas???

Well more info would be nice but just one of those Aint a good sign both together could be bad news. Low water coulda run hot... Low oil lack of lubrication. Running hot and no lubercation is def double trouble. What's the truck doing now?

Well never let a woman drive your truck, jk lol. Well I would fill up the water and change the oil see if it runs and how it will be. if it's low on oil I would be scared if you spun a bearing in the engine. That would not be good.

Just changed oil and filter and filled water. Took it for a 6 mile drive and ran great! Dirty oil had about 3 - 3-1/2 quarts left... :/

The damage may be done already, it is a possibility that she popped a headgasket. I would spend the money to have a block test done. It will look for combustion gases in the cooling system. Water in the oil you will notice in a very short time period.

Keep on changing the oil so you can get all the crap out of your engine. I would have testing done on your block.
