Default Engine missing on acceration when cold

Hey, I have a 1998 F150 with the V8 / 4.6 engine. Recently my truck has a distinct (severe) miss on acceration when it is cold, even though the outside temp is pretty mild, 60's and 70's. This lasts for about the first couple of miles and then it runs fine. This miss is most severe at 1500 to 2000 rpm. It idles fine at start-up when cold. Tried letting it warm-up for 5 minutes before driving, still had miss (not as bad) for first half to one mile.

Any help or suggestions/ideas that anyone has are greatly appreciated.

Thanks !!

Take a look at the EGR to make sure it isn't gummed up inside with carbon and causing it to stay open after a hot soak. Also make sure the EGR ports going into the throttle body are not clogging up too.

Default What ended up happening?

Hey pm!
I'm having a similar problem with my truck and was wondering what your solution to the missfire?
Thanks for your response.
