Engine lurching at 45-55 mph
I have a 2003 Ford F 150 5.4 L .
At startup the engine is fine no issues. After driving it for a quarter mile or so it begins to lurch at 45-55 mph. I replaced the MAF and cleaned the throttle body .What could be causing this to happen?

Never heard it described as lurching. However, if it's occurring right after the into OD (about 45mph) it's most likely a low grade miss. COP ig coils short under that specific load once they begin to bad. Shorted turns in the winding add up with age.
Like I said, not sure what lurch means to you, check your FP as well.

I had something similar, but my problem I would describe as surging. It was the downbank O2 sensor. I was a long way from home and it took about 200 miles for the CL to come on after the problem started. In the meantime I was riffling through some serious gas. I changed the O2 next day and had no further problems.
Not sure this would be your problem but just something I had happen that pretty much mirrors what you describe.
