Default engine doesn't want to start

at times, engine doesn't want to start. doesn't seem to get fuel, after a bit it will start. I'm thinking fuel filter or pump. had injectors cleaned.
any suggestions

Could be the signs of a fuel pump going bad. When it doesn't want to start rap the bottom of the fuel tank. If it starts it is most likely the fuel pump.

What year truck and motor do you have? I would first start with a fuel pressure reading with a gauge.

Taking fuel pressure is a definate plus, if pressure is OK then check for spark during the no start mode. Any CEL action?
