Default electrical problem 2002 F150

Hi everyone,
I'm new to these forums. I have a 2002 F150 4.2 V6 manual transmission. About 2 days ago my battery light came on, the truck still ran just fine until today. I left work to get the kids and when i left the truck wouldn't start, i got a jump and was on my way. After about a mile my battery gauge started dropping and the radio, power windows, and headlights all went out but it was still drivable. I was afraid it was gonna die on me so i pulled into a parking lot. I started checking all of the fuses and power connections and didn't see anything blown or corrosion. I put the key in and the everything worked again but it wouldn't start, got a jump and everything was working fine for about a mile or so then it happened again. I drove it home and parked it for now. I thing im going to have to take it in, just wondering if anyone else has run into this and there is some easy fix that i don't know about, I'm lost when it comes to electrical issues. Thanks in advance.

sounds like an alternator problem once you get it running see what the output is then you will know if its the battery or alternator

Sounds like an alternator, if he's losing all his electrical, then it wouldn't be the battery. Alternator puts out enough to run all electrical, plus charge the battery on the truck when its running.
