Default Electrical problem

I have a 2000 F150 Lariat and when I turn the key counter clockwise everything works but when I start it the clock, power windows, radio, windshield wipers, fan and cruise control don't work. Sometimes the windows work but it is rare. I checked all the fuses and they look fine. This all started when my air conditioning fan went out and I found a 40 amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood. I replaced the fuse and the fan worked for a couple of hours then stopped again but the fuse was still good. Any ideas on where I should start trouble shooting on this one?
Thanks

Yesterday I unplugged and plugged back in all of the connectors that I could get to and it's fixed, I just wish I knew wich connector it was.
