Electrical.. kill me now
Okay, so i have an 02 f150 with the 4.6l.. Everything has been fine electrically on the truck, until today. Today, i tried to start the truck, and it seemed like my battery was drained. It barely turned it over enough to start. so, i cleaned off my battery terminals (very corroded) and the truck seemed to fire up better.. however , i noticed now my parking lights (front parking and tail lights) were staying on, even though my headlight switch was in the off position.
I removed the headlight switch altogether and my lights still stayed on. I also removed almost every fuse and relay (relating to them), and still the lights would stay on. '
If i drive the truck for a while, it fires right up (cause the battery is charged from driving).
It seemed as if when i disconnected my battery for a short time, the lights would go off. however, even with the lights off, the battery is still being drained. Also, when i was starting the truck, the gauges all sweep. Though i believe this could be due to the low battery.
after all my research and trying to remove fuses and relays, does anybody have any other suggestions to try? Only thing i can think of is my GEM may be going bad.
