Default ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH 01' f150

Ok. So i should begin by saying i have had some minor electrical issues in the past with this truck. Audio doesn't work etc. I went to start the truck this morning and the battery was completely dead. After a jump I made it to work. Truck would not start when i went to leave. I noticed my dash was getting juice when no key in ignition etc. After a little befuddlement i decided to pull a few fuses to try and cut the errant power. 2nd fuse i pulled, the power was no longer flowing to dash etc. The fuse was the Number 2 fuse slot Powertrain control module. Upon removing the fuse the truck started fine and was running fine till i got home. Truck has continued to start on command only when the powertrain control module fuse is not in place. Can i continue to run the vehicle without said fuse? What does the powertrain control module do? etc? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Shouldn't my truck not be running with that fuse removed?

One of strangest things I've ever heard. Do you have a CEL. Have you looked up the explanation of the fuse. Does your power-port or cig lighter work? That may be a KAM fuse I can't recall without looking it up myself. You could do that.

Yea, it's possible apparently. Could be a diagnostic port fuse. Perhaps the port is dirty. I do know these trucks get all goofy when the battery is low. Like when you mentioned the dash lights on w/key removed, yea, I've seen that occur before.

Ford changed the fuse blocks around quite a bit from model year to model year. I suggest looking in operators manual for yours.

If you don't have one, download it.
