electric locks and keyless work
I bought a junker scab 2000. Many problems to fix. I've been working down the list. 2 hours yesterday fixing the drivers electric lock and setting up a couple of fobs and the key pad.
Some how, I was lucky enough that the original factory book was still in it and it had the factory code for the door written in it.
1. I found the actuator fix on the net and took the door apart and did the tin foil thing to the motor. It was not as easy as the write up said but not that bad either.
2. Once the actuator was working I programed 2 key fobs bought off of Amazon for $5 bucks each. Problem... only one worked but I did have an original and used it. Now to find out if the seller will replace the bad one. This is very easy to program with the included directions.
3. Used the factory code and programed the door key pad.
I'm down to 2 items on the list. The anti lock brake light is on and my reader won't talk to me about that so I'll take it to a brake shop to have that checked and fixed as long as it's only a sensor. I will not replace if it's the main computer.
Last item is the engine. I have it running pretty good but it has a lot of miles (262000) and I have no history on it. I'm debating a tune up, run it like this until summer and then just put another engine in it.
It runs a little rough at low speed and it's hard to tell when the rpms get up. I'm inclined to put plugs and coils on it to see how it runs. I can always pull them and put them on the next engine.
