hello , im new to this site and seeking some help please. i have a 2001 harley f 150 with some strange electrical issues. all of a sudden, i get in truck and all systems normal. i put in gear and radio cuts off and unable to use windshield wipers. also, after driving for awhile, the lights on warning chimes came on??? any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Check for water intrusion into the cab, under the floor mats and door sills. This will cause corrosion of electrical connections. Also test UR battery, a weak one will bring on symptoms. Stop by automotive store and have them test UR charging/battery system. Also see if U have a code.

 

What I always did in such a case was to check that all grounds are tight and corrosion free. Start with the battery negative. Look for grounds bundled and screwed to a common place. Then with the vehicle idling and everything working, systematically grab and shake wiring harnesses and connections. If that doesn't trigger the fault, then hit all the "brain boxes" with a hand. You want to jar the box and give it some vibration. Intermittent electrical problems are not easy to find so you need to be persistent.
