Default EGR valve

What's up? First post here. The check engine light came on in my 01 f150 so I checked it and it said the EGR valve was the problem. I swapped it out for a new one and now my truck runs like crap. It shifts really hard now, and when I get to 3rd the rpms drop really low. When I slow down and the transmission shifts down to 1st it feels like it's struggling to shift. Does anyone have an idea why this might be happening? All I did was swap out the EGR valve. Thanks.

Did you disconnect your battery for 15 mins so the computer will reset,Don't know if that would have anything to do with it though. I'd think vacuum leak. maybe the vacuum line that goes into the top of the EGR cracked or got a hole in it.

Yea I replaced the gasket and I also unhooked the battery for 15 mins. The check engine light went off but came back on the next day. I'll check the vacuum hose, that sounds like a good place to start. Thanks guys.

I'll check those other 2 sensors too, if I can.
