Why do they say they are for a 3.8l v6? Wouldn't the 5.4 demand more air to keep cool?

Because they are designed with the brackets to fit the 3.8l engines, same with the Taurus fan. But they pull around 2000 to 2200cfm each and that's plenty to cool these engines

The stock fan is pulling in 7000 cfms i don't think id feel comfortable going to 4000 cfms especially since i use mine to tow .

Well if you tow a whole lot in the heat pulling hills and what not then Efans are probably not a good option for you anyways no matter if it's a kit or custom. We have a power stroke for our heavy pulling

& I just looked. The troyer kit produces 6000cfm which 'is adequate to cool a 750+hp supercharged engine running in desert conditions' with a 2000 and 2500cfm fan it should be enough to cool our trucks since people are putting them on supercharged trucks and diesel trucks

Assuming you don't get stuck in traffic alot, or tow alot.... You may be okay.

Just make sure you double check the specs. Some of those may be rated/geared towards different blocks other than cast iron. I would say those higher hp/forced air engines have aluminum blocks making them MUCH MUCH easier to cool.

For instance a 500hp all aluminum block may require 2000cfm but a 500hp cast iron block may need 3 times that. Just double check the specs... And I agree, I would never buy vital enginge components, or cooling components off ebay!

Ive been looking for literally hours, Theres a guy on another forum with a factory 5.4 but swapped a lightning SC on it with these fans and they work perfect. and on here Pity7700 has them and say they work perfect aswell. So right now I think Im gonna get the Windstar fans with a DC controller and indicator light, and Im looking into a single A-pillar pod with a water temp gauge and I'll put the indicator light there as well... but still looking into them
