Default Edge Programmer Unlock Fees

My Edge Evo needs to be sent into Edge to be unlocked. They're closed today in observance of Good Friday. Does anyone happen to know the fee to have them unlock it.

Well, PHP charges $75. Don't think Edge is any cheaper than that.

FWIW - try calling PHP - I think, once upon a time, if you committed to ordering some custom tunes from them they would 'waive' the unlock fee if ye was real nice, lol.

Also ask them if it can be done online, once the device is connected to Fusion (or PHP's Pegasus client) loaded on to yer pc. The Software is free.

EDIT: looks like it can:

"Unlock a VIN-locked Edge or PHP programmer for use with a different vehicle or reflashed ECM. Files will be delivered through Pegasus software (Evo/Gryphon) or Fusion (CS/CTS)."

Save ye from shippin' it back to them.

Lastly - I'd give my bidness to PHP - they are a MUCH nicer company. It was Edge who stuck it to CS/CTS owners by inhibiting the ability for those devices to be custom-tuned -rendering them dead-end canned devices and tanking their value virtually overnite.

While I agree with this sentiment in principle, the OP already has some equity in the device. And - if he can swing a "buy our custom tunes and get a free unlock" deal from PHP, he'll then be in possession of a great little Gryphn with some purty excellent custom calibrations courtesy of Wizard Bill Cohron. (Remember, Bill also writes custom files fer SCT devices - he's a top-shelf calibrator).

If the OP -being the honest feller he is - elects to sell it as a locked device, it's not worth all that much, frankly. A lot of folks just want the basic canned tunes.

OP - best o' luck whichever way ye's fixin' to go.

PHP no longer writes tunes for the Evo or even our generation trucks. Before I ordered my Livewire from MPT, I talked to Steve as I had a CTS at the time and informed me then that he no longer was writing tunes for the 03 back trucks and was slowly phasing out the programming for the Evo's. They only ones he was still doing were previously modified Evo's that were already converted to Gryphons.

That's news to me. Forgot to check the vintage of the OP's truck.

Which begs the question - if the OP has a pre-2004, and the programmer is a 15051, then it was never gonna work anyway(?)

FWIW - looks like that are still supporting custom on 15051's for 2004-2008's according to the website. And unlocks fer same.

No real mention of previous gen trucks, and look like they just dropped SCT custom as well... how unfortunate.

Thankee fer the update & correction!
