Edge programmer, Speedo, and GPS
Hey Gang!
Just got the Edge Evo this weekend and put it in my 03 SCrew. I am loving the options this programmer is giving me with my truck, but experiencing one problem. The Edge is running about four mph faster than the speedo. This is no big deal to me. What is a big deal is when I compare the Evo and the speedo to the GPS speedo apps on my phone, the GPS is reading 13-19 mph SLOWER than the Evo and truck speedo. I even tried to compare this to a second GPS speedo app I use and I’m getting the same reading.
My tire size is 305/70/16 which, according to the formula in the Evo manual, comes out to 2618 mm.
Any thoughts on this? If I leave it as-is, I am potentially going nearly 20 mph over the speed limit. I already have “lead foot syndrome”, so I don’t need any more assistance getting the attention of our excellent law enforcement folks in Texas.
BTW-I have been searching the web this morning for help on this, but I not seen anyone with a range this drastic.

I don't have the edge programmer yet but getting it soon I have 305/70/16 bfg km2's and my speedo is off by about 4 fast and that's according to my garmin gps, when I go by radar boxes on the side of the road it confirms the same speeds maybe could just be a false reading... do you have stock gears?
Put your truck back into the stock mode and see if theres still that much difference. You'll probally be going 4 -5mph more than the speedo say because the 305/70/16's are taller than the tires it came with. The difference between a 255/70/16 and a 305/70/16 is 5.1 mph more speed than the speedo says. If that works out then you can try to calibrate the speedo with the edge. 2616.2mm is the size on the cart I seen on the web . I think I seen in the edge directions theres a way to calibrate it buy driving over a certain distance.
