Default Edge Evo issues

I bought an Edge Evo off a buddy of mine today. He had it on his 98 Expedition 5.4. We set the unit back to stock (0) and hooked it up to my truck. The my HEX ID shows up when you first plug it in. It will give you all the read outs like it supposed to. Only issue is, when I go to put a tune on it, it never gets passed "unlocking pcm..." Its sat in my heated garage for an hour now, key on and it still says the same thing. One thing I did notice is when the engine is off key on, it shows an engine load that varies from 14% to 54% engine load.

This unit worked just fine in my buddies Expedition.

I've already went and updated everything on the unit using the provided Fusion software.

Anyone give any insight?

Edit: I'm using this on my 97 F150 4.6.

Try resetting the unit there is a option in the menu to do that. Also these are bad about cables going out

With my SCT, once you start to program, you have like 10 sec to turn the key on. If you don't it will fail to unlock the pcm.

Got it figured out. Finally got around to calling Edge tech support. The Evo will not work on trucks built before 9/96. Way to disclose that valuable info, Edge...

Myn has just recently started shutting off after about an hour of driving . First gauges on it will go little crazy then it will shut off ..then I can push one of the buttons and it will try to turn back on then just shut off again.. Anyone else run into this problem? Or maybe needs new cable? Would this happen if cable is pinched?
