Default Edge cs between two trucks

I got a edge xD programmer a few weeks ago and I use it on my truck of course. But my dad also has an f150 and wants to try it. But he wants to know if we could program his truck to his liking then unplug it so I can have it back. Basically he just wants to put a tune in and wants to know if it will stay. Or does the programmer need to be plugged in the whole time?

Two trucks cannot be programmed at the same time with the programmer. If you set yours to stock and it is compatible with his truck, yes it will work. After programming the PCM is written and the programmer can be unplugged, but can't be used on multiple vehicles at the same time.

Actually theres a way around it, you can set your truck back to stock and program his with the programmer, take it off his truck. Go to the computer and rest it with fusion. Then install it back on your truck. Worked on my buddies f150. But if he ever needs to go back to stock we gotta go through the whole process again.

Once you reset with fusion the stock PCM tune from the first is lost. If you ever want to go back to stock the dealer would have to do that.

Being I have done it. You will not be able to revert back to the truck that was originally stock. It will look for the stock program with the vin and its not in the programmer. You will have to go back to the dealer to revert back to a stock programmer.
