Default EBS malfunction

2000 F150 160k miles. Turned the truck off the other day and an elec. motor kept running. I located the unit under the hood and unplugged it to stop it from draining the batt. It's apparently part of the EBS system. The EBS idiot light stays on the dashboard now constantly. The brakes work fine. If it's a $50 fuse, sensor, relay, etc......I'll replace it. I'm not replacing a $500 system. Thanks for any opinions.

I assume you mean ABS. If so you might try to find the relay for it and switch it out with another (I think fuel pump relay is the same).

Thanks udderbrudder. Yes, ABS, not Electronic Braking System. I'll find a wiring diagram and find the box with the relays. My biggest concern was the safety factor, but found out today lots of folks purposely disconnect the system. Thanks again for the info.
