Default Early 97' Headlight Issue

I bought a pair of headlights on ebay stating they would fit a 97'-03' F150, which seemed like a fair choice considering the man who sold me the truck told me it was a 97', which most people (I hope) would say is the first model year for the tenth gen F150. What I DIDN'T know is that my truck is actually a 96', as they were sold side by side with the 9th Gen trucks throughout 1996. The signal lights dont mount, anyone know where I can get smoked signal lights for a 1996 10th Gen F150? Thanks!

What is the manufacture date of your truck. Will be on door jam on driver side.

You are going to have to change the header panel to mount any lights in them. Ford changed the header panel design because they switched manufactures in mid 97. So You actually have a 97 but its what is known as the early 97.

So the header panel is the plastic piece behind the grill, correct? Would it bolt up or is modification needed? And where could I go about finding one of these if a wrecker has none?

It bolts straight up. You can find these things all over junkyards.
