Default e-brake

So I actuated the emergency brake today. After releasing it I drove to pick the kids up. When driving I felt a slight vibration that was not there before. When I got to the Daycare and got out of the truck I smelt something burnt, rear passenger wheel. I'm guessing the e-brake did not fully release? Is this dangerous to drive until after work tomorrow? Any suggestions would be great. I am going to take it in tomorrow.

Press and release it a few times, probably wouldn't hurt to crawl under your truck and tap the caliper/rotors with a hammer to see if it will help disengage the parking brake.

Might just be debris and brake dust making everything stick. To answer your question I wouldn't worry to much about it, if it does stay engaged and that's what it's doing, your only going to wear the E-brake pad down. It's a different pad than what's used to stop your truck.

Ok. It's actually the rear passenger only. It has drums. I felt it and it was extremely hot. I guess that's what worried me.Img just don't want to make things worse.

Work the parking brake after spraying some form of lube on the cables, even under the dash. Since you didn't feel the truck dragging it sounds like you have two issues. Parking brakes aren't releasing correctly and your rear brakes are probably out of adjustment so have the entire system checked by an HONEST mechanic.

My old 2000 with drums used to do that but I would just reach up under the cab and pull the park brake cable and it would release it..

Thanks for the advice guys. So I engaged and disengaged over and over. Tapped the drum. Did these steps repeatedly. Then forward and reverse. Reverse with ease foward (drive) is where the wheel does not want to turn. It does but you can hear it and feel it grabbing. And now it's dark so... to the shop in the morning.
