Default Drivetrain Upgrade Advice

I'm new to Ford's, never owned one until my late father in laws 97 4wd regular cab with the 4.6 was signed over to us. It's going to be a project as money allows over then next few years to make it something my wife loves even more, especially I being her daddy's truck. The 4.6 is no powerhouse given the weight of the truck or course but I've be looking a lot into modifications beyond a CAI, exhaust, etc. Comp Cams has a cam I've been seriously considering, part #120100. Anyone have this can installed or have any good opinions on of it's worth it? There's an ol boy I went to school with who has a shop in town, Farmtuned Diesel Performance who does awesome work when it comes to tuning, even on a gasser when he occasionally tunes one. IF I install this cam and have him tune it is it worth it with some basic bolt on mods to go along with it?

I think you are better off doing a PI head swap. After than i would suggest electric fans to replace your clutch fan and then a custom tune. Everything else i honestly dont think the cost vs gain.
