Drivetrain squeak.

My 03 has a squeak in the drivetrain. It squeaks only in reverse. I checked the u-joints they dont seem to not have any play. They are not greasable. The truck has 40,000 miles on it.

not sure i know i have an 01 f150 and when it made a squeak noise it was the u-joints. not too expensive so i would give that a shot.

I would def. replace the U-Joints. Pretty sure that's the culprit.

Just because they don't have play doesn't mean they aren't bad.
Having play in them just means they are REALLY bad.

I have an 01 that squeeked only in reverse. Long story short replace the ujoints and you should be rid of your squeak
