Default Driveshaft Situation

I was working on changing my universal joints on my truck using a press to get them out. The press ended up pushing down at an angle causing the ring that holds the u-joint cap to crack on the yoke side of my driveshaft. I talked with driveshaft specialist places and all of them wanted around $100 for welding a new end on the replace the one that cracked. I found a used driveshaft for $140 and decided to go with it instead of the welded old one. I am concerned about the used one I got because it is off of a F250. Does anyone know if I will have any problems with this?

If the shaft is of same length and the yoke fits at both ends it will probable work just fine. I would have gone with the weld job as long as they rebalanced the shaft as part of the job.

In all cases its better to stay with a part from a vehicle the same model as yours, but like bill said most likely if its the same spline count and the length is the same you should be fine. I as well would have gone with the welded and rebalanced shaft. Most driveshaft shops are pretty well versed in welding haha
