Default Drivers power lock

I have a 2000 150 and the power lock on the drivers side does not seem work. When I hit the power lock you can see the lock go up or down just a little, but not all the way. IE: if its locked, it will not come all the way up and visa versa. I can move it manually and it does not seem to bind at all. Has anyone had this issue? I suppose I have to take the door panel off to investigate any further. How much of a pain is that?

Get yourself a Chilton or Haynes repair manual.
They have a section on removing door panels to fix the glass, etc.
They come in very handy for many other repairs too.

Thanks, will do. I was hoping there was an easy fix such as WD40 or something LOL. Tried that, did not help. Could care less about the power lock portion, but it also means the keyless entry does not work.

I had an 87 Taurus wagon that the door lock looked like it was locked, but it wasn't. The bar that went between the top and the actual lock mechanism has come off so it didn't matter where the thing was, it was always unlocked unless you used your key in the door.

I had been having the same exact problem with my 2000 f150. I found an awesome fix on the fte website. It cured the problem completely, like new again.

Here's the link;

I just did this today, so maybe I can help if you need any.
