Drivers door wont lock or unlock unless open
On a 2001 F150, drivers door will not lock or unlock using the fob or door switch unless the door is open, All the other door locks work normally when locked / unlocked with the fob or door switch.
Also, if the drivers door is closed the switch on the passenger door will not lock / unlock the drivers door but will lock / unlock all the other doors.
I am honestly at a loss as to where to look.
Thanks for any ideas you may have.

You probably have a broken wire in the pass-through between the door and cab. It makes contact when open.
