I have a 1997 F150 XLT, 4.6 V8. I am aware of the door chime grounding wire that causes the chime and am wondering if this truck was originally provided with a retaining ring or clip to hold the wire and clip in place. The plastic clip on the grounding wire does not keep the metal grounding tab in its proper place, causing the chime to ring constantly. Wondering if anybody knows if a retaining ring or clip was originally provided with this model.

Are you referencing the the plastic piece that sits in the ignition (key) cylinder? I Gorilla Glued mine in place a year ago and it's been trouble free ever since.
