Have 97 f150 xlt 2wd and the door ajar light stays on even after all the doors are closed, and the inside can light won't go off ether. It turns it self off after a while If I'm lucky. Is there a sensor to fix this problem or what? Any help would be great.

 

Have you tried spraying wd40 into the door latch yet?? Worked on my 98..

 

These trucks are prone to having problems with the door switches. I tried spraying mine with penetrant without success. I had to replace my passenger side switch which is a PITA. Spray liberally into both mechanisms and open and close the doors until the switch breaks loose. The switch is behind the latching parts.
