the condom one was a great one. but on the topic yes get the 4x4. i live in louisville, kentucky and even though the only time i will def have to have it will be if it snows and ive honestly got thru b4 without it, but it was too fun, or good, and plenty scary and i vowed i would never ever again own a truck unless it was 4wd or if it was 2wd it would be something lowered and sporty and thats if i already own a 4x4. but like it was said b4 the few times you use it will make it all worth while. its better to have it and get unstuck or out of trouble then to b screwed, or if anything it will be a peace of mine. remember have fun with it and use it to get out of trouble, not to get in trouble. well atleast to much trouble

I don't know if anybody else's truck is like mine, but mine is absolutely useless in 2X4, but its awesome in 4X4. I took it through a snowy, muddy field the other day and as soon as I left the road I started spinning in 2X4, but I put in in 4X4 and even when I stepped on it it did great and barely spun.
And I have a wimpy small set of highway all season tires.

I agree with the other posts that have been submitted on getting the 4x4; however, it comes down to preferance. If your first vehicle is a 4x4 and you only plan on having the second as a pavement princess, then go with the 2x4. You dont have to have 4x4 to make a dump run, errands, or launch a boat, (most of the time). Again that is up to you as the money is coming out of your pocket.
I do have a question for you though, if your first veh. is a 4x4 and it breaks down (for whatever reason), it snows outside, and your recently purcahsed 2x4 backup veh. gets stuck, then what good is the 2x4? As previously stated better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.
Before I forget, I have pulled my share of 2x4 trucks out of the snow, mud, and sand, even though they had agressive tires.
I will reiterate the above though, the money is coming out of your pocket so you will have to be the one to decide. Silverliftedford.
