DIY remote starter

Has anyone wired up an after market remote starter? If so was it a PITA?

Yes, and yes. It was in a Dodge, not a Ford, but if I had it to do over again, I'd just let a shop do it. The money saved wasn't worth the time wasted.

let someone do it. Watched the guy when he installed the alarm/remote start on my last truck and that is definitely not a task I would want to take on.

Can you show me how he put the relay on the starter wire if posible

It's easy as pie. What year do you have and I'll link you your wiring diagram if I have it or can find it.

Make sure you either solder or crimp caps. DO NOT use T-clams.
