Default dipstick problem

The sleve that my dip stick goes in broke off when I checked my oil on my 98 f150 has this happened to anyone?

Happened to me when installing headers - I modified an empty .308 casing and went crazy with the J-B weld. Still holding up after a few years.

It was cheap - and I was in the middle of a header install nightmare. I cant believe it has lasted this long.

If your lucky you can get a pick in between the broken tube and the block and bend it in enough to grab it with some needle nose's. Good luck !
