Default Different sized u joints

When I got my 98 in on a trade the rear driveshaft was out of it. The owner found one in a junkyard and included it with the truck. One day he was driving to work and he claims the shaft just broke at the u joint (I think it was just a u joint failure). Anyway, he scrapped the "broken" shaft and got a different one out of a local junkyard. My problem is the slip yolk. He included the right size one seperate from the shaft. The shaft already had a slip yolk on it, but it was a smaller size than the one he inlcuded which is the correct size. I thought it was just a simple swap of the yolks, it's not. Even tho the shaft is the right length, it has different sized u joints. I called and looked at all the scrap yards around here and either they don't have any shafts, or the ones they do have aren't the right ones. So what seems to be my fix here? I'd hate to go and spend $300+ for a new shaft when I'm just going to flip the truck in a few months. I considered taking it to a driveshaft shop and having them just cut off the old end and welding on the right size. Besides that, is there another way to fix this?

Check a Precision 255 or 430. This has the 2 sized caps and longer cross for the small to big flanges. It could also be a 348, but without the actual dimensions, I have to guess on what you have.
