I think my 4.6 Windsor does a pretty damn good job overall. The weak link on the truck, to me, is the brakes. They suck when it's loaded down.
Didn't you do a big brake swap yet, thought you did. The brakes would suck if you were running ceramics for sure. Specially in stop and go.

One other consideration- my 03s-crew 4x4 weighs in at just shy of 5000 lbs. hers a big girl!
And at a perfect 16:1 air/fuel ratio, it still takes x-amount of fuel to make x- amount energy to move x-amount of weight.
Ill get 16-18 on the highway, and i dont even want to know how bad it is around town ( i suspect around 10-12)-

Whitey.....Windsor motor. This (blue truck) gets great gas mileage, has sufficient power and I'm quite impressed by. Lil Red, is just more power in a smaller package, which make it easy to pull with. I actually like both trucks, and if I didn't need some room, I wouldn't be getting rid on Blue. The kids Subaru RS has to go bye bye too. lol

PS: the Fusion no longer leaks any fluids, doesn't get hot, and the kid says it runs better than ever.. I guess we got one PIA fixed. lol.
