Cut down ridge or not
Hi folks,
I've found the need to change my head gaskets due to warped heads. I'm almost done with cleaning everything and about to start putting everything back together. The heads were cleaned, inspected and milled at the machine shop. However, around each cylinder protruding from the face of the block that meets the head is a sharp ridge. What I would like to know is whether or not I should remove these ridges or leave them alone. Will they interfere with a proper gasket seal. If removal is recommended can I do this at home without buying anything special? Thank you in advance for all of your input.
