Default Custom Tunes

Hey y'all, I'm wondering who had some good custom tunes that I can put on my Sct. I just purchased some from MPT but after I purchased it, I found out they don't do it for the 4.6, only the 5.4. They said they would refund me and I can get my money back. It's a shame because I heard so much good stuff about them and how they were one of the most aggressive things you could tune your truck with besides a dyno tune. So another question is, are the custom tunes really worth it compared to the canned tunes that came in my Sct?
Thanks

Cant comment on the 2v motors but between the MPT and Unleashed tune I have for my 5.0L I like the Unleashed more. The MPT may make a little more power but the drivability of the Unleashed tune more than makes up for it.

Mpt does in fact tune the 4.6. I am running a 93 octane race tune right now. I have a 93 street and a 87 tow tune as well. When you fill out the custom tune form, make sure you mention that it's a 4.6 in the additional comments section. Or call them and they will fill the sheet out for you via the phone and then you can mention its for the 4.6. As far as custom vs canned..it's a world of difference. My race tune is designed not to shift out of first until 15mph and it shifts a lot harder. Plus with the 93 octane, it makes a little more power. Not much but it pulls harder up top. The tunes are adjusted for tire size, gears and exhaust mods including headers and mid pipes.

I use mine to adjust for gears, egr delete and rear O2 delete and to adjust for my headers and intake and such.

I promise you they tune for it. I got mine in September. Call them in the morning. On my custom tune form it says this

Vehicle year: 2002
Vehicle type: 09-10 F150 4.6L Triton

I figure they just adjust a few things to incorporate air flow and stuff for the older engine. My guess is the customer service rep didn't know this. Call and get in contact with the tuning department.

thanks man that makes me a lot happier! I will call them tomorrow morning and see if I could get them to get me some tunes... And another thing for you personally: I have a 5 speed, so I adjust my own shift points lol, so besides like shift points and everything, does your truck actually feel faster goin through the mph and such? And are you comparing the canned 93 octane tune to the 93 race tune or are you comparing stock to the race tune? Thanks!

I'll compare stock to canned tunes and canned tunes vs custom.

The canned tune increased throttle response over stock. More mid range grunt. It just ran better. Would break the tires free doing a break stand after the tune but would catch almost immediately after you let off the brakes. I couldn't get them to spin before. I could adjust shift pressures.

The custom tune significantly increased low end because I tuned for being catless at the time (and catless on stock tune kills power). The canned tune did not compensate for being catless thus low end still suffered. Increased power through the entire band. Could get the tires to spin through first gear and finally catch in second. On asphalt. Ran even better than canned with 93 octane.
