Default custom cb radio/switch panel center consule

Ok guys so I'm thinking about making a "center counsule" that will go in between my dash and actual center counsule. The team would be made out of wood and then it would have sheet metal on the outside so it looks good. I'm thinking about putting in 8 aux switches in 2 rows of 4 switches. Right now I would only use 4 of the switches and the other 4 would be for later projects. Then above that I would have a 12 volt cigarette lighter outlet as well as a USB car charger outlet. Then at the top a think I would flush mount a mini CB radio. Then I would run all the wires from the switches and everything into the actual center consule where a will have a 12 accessory fuse that will power the whole panel as well as the accessories and off road lights. This way I can get all of my AUX lights and other crap off my stock fuse box (except for the foot well and bed lights). So if something does short out I don't have to worry about my trucks electric all system. Would this be a good idea? Any tips before I start? I'm pretty sure I'm gonna run a 6 gauge main line from the battery to the fuse box then 14 gauge lines off the box. It would cost about $200 to do the project, but that's including the price of a CB and antenna.

The wiring shouldn't be hard if you have any experience. I'd strongly suggest using relays, especially on any off-road lights and the cb because they're more likely to burn up a switch. I'm curious about getting it to line up with the dash myself. I'm actually about to do a similar project myself.

Well the only experience I have wiring is when I put all my lights in, and I will definitely be using relays

Yeah kinda like that but it's gonna be longer so it takes up the whole space in between the dash and center counsel

look into a nsvi or expy console. It goes to the dash and has alot of space For mounting everything. Thay fit right in our trucks. https://www.f150forum.com/f6/center-console-264511/

Yeah I thought about doing that, but I wanted a more custom look and I wanted to be able to remove it if I have to rewire something, because everything will be on a separate fuse box and circuit than the rest of the truck, plus there is no flat face already there for switch mounting. Plus I have Manuel 4x4
