Default Cruise control switch problem

I recently changed my cruise control switch; the process was easy and the connections on the new switch were idiot poof or at least I thought they were. After getting things back together when I push the on buttom the horn sounds and the cruise doesn't work. The indicator light blinks on the dash so I m at a loss because there are only two connectors and they only plug in to thier respective connections. Help?

Did you zip tie the wires down. What you just did is melt the wires now they are grounded out. You are going to have to replace them. I did the same thing.

Does that mean I will need a new switch ensemble? I didn't zip tie it at first I used garbage bad twists but then I thought the metal in it might have something to do with it. so if I bought another switch and zip-tied it; it should be good to go?

Thank you.
