Default Cruise Control Question

I was just looking over the control schematics and noticed that the only input sensor the system needs is the Vehicle Speed Sensor. Is this correct? I always thought it needed a tach input as well. Isn't the VSS in the transmission? Eventually planning a 4BT swap and that was always my biggest question, how to get the cruise to work as it would still be my daily driver.

Yep im pretty sure it is just VSS. My truck didnt come with a tach but it did come with cruise control. The speed sensor is somewhere in the trans or transfer case, not sure exactly which one

There is a tach that the computer reads for some purpose. That's why swapping the cluster to get a tach is literally plug and play. Haven't discovered if it has another purpose though.
