Default Cruise control problem

Just wondering if anyone had this problem. I have a 2002 ford f-150 supercab truck. After i had my ford dealer put the recall part in for the cruise control (about a year or alittle longer ago) it worked i guess for a month or 2 then it quit. i've replaced the fuse a few times but it keeps on blowing out as soon as you try it. any suggestions on what to do. i know the best option is to take it to the dealer and have them look at and fix it. but i was just wondering if there is a cheaper way before i do that.

I had a problem with on 02 Screw. Turned out the cruise switches and the cruise control motor/actuator was bad. Replace them with used ones and works like a charm. Got to have my cruise control.

Does your switches light up at night still?

The fuse i replaced was the one in the part they put in. and to Top Notch person what do you mean "Does your switches light up at night still?" if you talking about all the dials and all. yes they all still light up.

I mean your cruise control switches. Mine didn't. Till I put another set in. I guess the others burnt up. Also the connector that goes to the actuator was a little melted.

If its the fuse in the part they put in it is most likely the recall fused jumper harness. In order to repair the problem you must replace the switch on the master cyl. The reason the fuses are blowing is because the brake fluid in that switch is shorting it out. The fuses are there to keep from burning your truck down. Go to the dealer and get the updated switch and install in. The switch should be about $30.

Thanks and not too bad of a price.
