Default crossmember help

i have a 2003 f150 4wd with auto tranny.the crossmember that has the transmission mount has a big crack and i need a new one.anyone able to tell me what its really called and where to get one.if you need more info just ask.thanks for your help

This site says they have them, but they don't have pictures.. I'd probably e-mail them and see what's up.

And I'm pretty sure you could get one from a dealer, but I'm not sure what the price would be.

my transmission crossmember is cracked as well. Just talked to the dealership today and the part costs $193.00..

I've made crossmembers out of flat bar and angle, but it's not really worth it. $200 isn't really much, you'd spend at least $50 in steel and then a lot of time to cut and weld and figure up exactly what goes where and drilling out the trans mounts and then mounting it to the frame and all that is assuming you have all the equipment needed to do it. If it was me I'd buy one.

if your planning on doing it yourself you could always check a local salvage yard for a used one i know up here in the northeast we go to the local pull it yourself scrap yard and pick out the part we want yank it out and pay pennies for them compared to new ones
